Meet Charlie!

A nine-and-a-half-year-old male Feist mix, Charlie was surrendered to a shelter in North Carolina, brought up to New York by Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, and then found his forever home during the summer of 2013 with Nan and Alf. He had severe separation anxiety at first, but during the next few months he learned to trust his new family and slowly became the playful and goofy dog he is today. The staff at Happy Dogs have loved watching this little guy’s personality blossom, too; he’s been a daily Happy Dogs member since July 2013.

Charlie had it rough at first, but now life is gooooooood.

What is Charlie’s mission in life?

Mission #1: “Be the shadow to my humans.”

Mission #2: “Beg for treats.”

Mission #3: “Obtain belly rubs.”

Loves: Belly rubs. Also: fetching balls. (This is an athletic dog!)

Charlie *might* allow you to give him a belly rub if you agree not to deliver food to his house.

Hates: Food-delivery people and doorbells. Also, no offense? But he does not like strangers!

What does Charlie do all day at daycare? Who’s his best bud at Happy Dogs?  The pack leaders at Happy Dogs say that Charlie loves to sniff around with a gang of dogs before he enjoys a good nap with some friendly pillows. While Charlie’s Mom, Nan, says that Charlie’s like that slightly awkward kid in school with social anxiety and not a lot of friends, he does seem to like Dino enough to sleep next to him on the regular.

What’s Charlie like after a day at Happy Dogs? This boy literally jumps for joy when he sees Nan and Alf, then he goes home to be a human shadow.

Hi, Charlie! Hi! So happy to see you, too!
